I recognize all of the faults you're stating, but that doesn't change the fact that the film charmed me. I suppose it's purely an emotional reaction instead of an intellectual one, but I still appreciated its tendency toward a more sophisticated brand of humor than your average Owen Wilson film. It's wholly calculated and irritatingly so at points (especially when the family gets pulled over with their dead grandfather in the trunk), but I found a lot of the film to be rather joyous, especially when involving Carell, Collette, and Breslin. As I'm a pretty huge snob, I couldn't include it on my top 10 (or even 20), but I thought it was worthy enough, for my taste, to deserve some sort of mention... though that mention probably should have noted the numerous, potentially-damning (or damning, in your opinion) faults.reassurancehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17129227726045849803noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-15543127.post-71263680389327495952007-01-14T09:49:00.000-06:002007-01-14T09:49:00.000-06:00I'm surprised you out of all people liked Little M...I'm surprised you out of all people liked Little Miss Sunshine. It's worse than a 14-year-old's myspace profile, much worse. The suicidal gay uncle, the vulgar grandfather, the self-help teaching father who needs self-help himself, the teenage son taking a vow of silence.... did they leave out any cliche? For a film telling you its okay to be yourself, the directors found themselves trying too hard to be trendy. Oops. So, when Babel failed to resonate with audiences, Sunshine became this year's Crash.

SNAP!Filmbohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10856374977796706304noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-15543127.post-5178502613671534982007-01-13T15:33:00.000-06:002007-01-13T15:33:00.000-06:00This comment has been removed by the author.CMhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13284377884164734167noreply@blogger.com
