In a not-so-surprise move, this year's Palme d'Or did not go to Volver or Babel, but instead to Ken Loach's period drama, The Wind that Shakes the Barley. The rest of the awards are as follows:Grand prix: Flandres - dir. Bruno Dumont

I see the American's once again easily swept through a foreign city.... wait a second, the American's didn't clean sweep the awards?.... and they didn't sweep through Iraq either.... (And who is this Ken Loach and why didn't we kill him in Tora Bora?) Screw Cannes.... from now on I'm eating ravioli that came in a Tin Freedom!!
And one final thought before I prep for my hangover: Who would have predicted that the liberals -- not the neo-cons -- would be the first to drop bombs in France. SNAP! DAMN! OH NO HE DI-N'T!
