Excellent discussion, though I only skimmed several sections because of the spoilers.
I would kidnap a small child to see this film. Shame I will probably never get a chance, since no distributor on earth would release a four hour upskirt photography epic.
It is a tough sell for any distributor, I'd imagine, even though the film did exceptionally well in Japan. I could see a direct-to-DVD release if no one takes the plunge for the theatrical rights, as there's always a big market for Asian "cult"-ish cinema in the home video market.
