you don't need me to say that this is a solid, eclectic, incredibly useful list, but what are lists good for if not to argue with?
Fish Tank at 25???
Where is Syndromes!?!?!
Sex is Comedy at 32????
solid #1, though the best film ever made is missing entirely ;)
Ha, yeah, I'm kind of ashamed that I didn't get around to Syndromes and a Century, even after it topped that Toronto list... and I think you're referring to Inland Empire, to which I'm not entirely sold.
As for Fish Tank, you missed the boat on that one.
And I think everyone, including myself, underestimated Sex Is Comedy. It wasn't until I rewatched it did I recognize what a fantastic film it is.
Great lists. Love you blog.
Bruce LaBruce… NOOOO! Other then that fine great list.
What no El laberinto del fauno (Pan's Labyrinth) ?
Wonderful list Joe.
We have a lot of similar picks. Syndromes would be my #1, but I'm glad to see Talk to Her and Songs From the Second Floor so highly ranked.
I've been trying to see Summer Hours for 2 years, but no luck yet.
Summer Hours was just put on Netflix instant play.
What wonderful list!!! I love all the movies here, but my favorite is The Raspberry Reich, I think that this movie is really horrific!!!22dd
But the Humour is employed to explore the gap between reality and ideal in the terrorist world!!
Awesome list, I actually haven't seen some of these ones.
